Open Clean Source

Hy folks,

We will discuss the open source request in our team.
The main reason for us currently not to distribute the source code is
that we fear all kinds of not working variants we will be blamed for and
lots of questions we will have to answer about the internal structure of
the Clean system.

> But the problem with Clean is not the compiler, is the Enviroment tools
> like IDE,  which need to be improved more faster than the compiler.

I agree on that. I have no problem in releasing the source code of the
Clean IDE.
It definitely needs improvement, but we currently have other priorities.
All other Clean libraries are already free available.


> What I really require more, are a better documentation on the Clean
> Functions Libraries, because a developer needs them more that the Source
> code of the compiler. We must remember that the goal is not to develop an
> high performing compiler only, but build an Environment to develop good

I agree. A new release of the object I/O library is under construction.
With documentation, of course.

> I am waiting for the Clean 2.0 Version to see the improvement to the

The implementation of the new system is almost finished. We are
currently testing the system.
