[FieldTrip] Problem with timelockanalysis

Hello,
I am new to Fieldtrip and this forum so please feel free to let me know if
the information I'm providing is sufficient to answer my question. I'm
having trouble with the timelockanalysis function as below. Does anyone
know why this might be happening?

I'm running the following script in MATLAB_R2018b / fieldtrip-20181231. I
have tried running it on multiple older versions of Fieldtrip and gotten
similar errors:
*ERP(cond_i).erps(part_i) = ft_timelockanalysis (cfg, EEG_ft);*

and receiving the following error:
