[FieldTrip] EDF discontinuous

Dear all

I would like to make a question concerning the EDF+ D
Is there a way to cut the edf+D files into the different segments via matlab without transforming the EDF file to a .mat file so to avoid the time needed for the whole procedure??

So assuming that I have and EDF+D file with 3 segments I want to get 3 EDF+C files similarly to the function of the EDFbrowser "Convert EDF+D to EDF+C" via matlab.
