Thierry Latran Foundation, which covers the EU tuition fee and an annual
stipend of 20,600.

Post Summary:

Applications are invited for a motivated and self-driven PhD student with
the Irish ALS Research Group, hosted in the Trinity Biomedical Sciences
Institute (TBSI)'s Academic Unit of Neurology. The research project, funded
by The Thierry Latran Foundation, seeks to quantify the cognitive
dysfunction in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) by developing
electroencephalographic (EEG) biomarkers of changes in the activity and
connectivity of functional brain networks. The ideal candidate will have an
undergraduate or master's degree in biomedical engineering, mathematics,
physics, computer science, computational biology/neuroscience, or a cognate
area, with a strong knowledge of computer programming (MATLAB). Familiarity
with and/or the ability to quickly acquire skills in electrophysiological
recordings and analysis (EEG), would be highly desirable. The studentship
is expected to start from September 2019 or soon thereafter.
