[FieldTrip] Non-parametric test statistics

Hi!

In Jan-Mathijs paper of 2011 two (complicated) test-statistics are used
based on the frequency spectrum and coherence spectrum. They are used to
compensate for differences in the distance of the head to the sensors
between subjects (in the case of frequency power), and to compensate for
differences in the number of trials per condition (in the case of
coherence).

I have three questions..

1-Are these test statistics available in fieldtrip?

2-Would the results be very different if a simple difference was used as
the test statistic?

3-Are there any analogous test statistics for the other connectivity
measures (plv, etc...)
