Dear Ion,

 

If your ultimate goal is to combine the horizontal and vertical gradients you can do that later (after ft_timelockanalysis or ft_freqanalysis) using ft_combineplanar. You can skip the ft_megplanar step because the neuromag system already has planar gradiometers. I have done this numerous times and it works perfectly!
