[FieldTrip] Time-frequency analysis: based on single trials or on average?

Hi all,

I am new to fieldtrip and have a very simple question. I have EEG data and
would like to run a
time-frequency analysis (e.g., using a Hanning taper with fixed window
length). If I have 100 trials,
how is this analysis performed? On a trial-by-trial basis, or based on the
average? Can I choose
between these options in fieldtrip?
