[clean-list] Can't create abc file?

Hi,

I just installed Clean 2.1 on my Linux box in /usr.
I'm trying to compile one of the example programs but I get the following 
error:

[bas at bassbox] make pascal

clm -nw -b pascal -o pascal
Compiling pascal
Compiling StdEnv
Error [StdEnv,<open file>]: Can't create abc file (disk full?)
make: *** [pascal] Error 1

My disk is not full so what can be the problem?
