[clean-list] ANSI standard Clean?

Has the time come to apply to ANSI for acceptance of Clean
as a world standard?  The language appears to be
 - stable enough
 - better specified than most
 - sufficiently advanced and different from most other commonly used
   languages that it will provide a standard with significant new
   features.
The process might cause extra work(!) for the Clean team, and
they might lose some control of their baby; but their baby would
gain recognition and might grow up faster.
