God must be programming in Clean (Siegfried Gonzi)
...

Hello all,

Sorry if I didn't post any comment since I've subscribed to the list. I think that Siegfried Gonzi is
right. I mainly use OCaml & C/C++, and found out that
Clean speed surpass all functional languages I've
tested. I also agree that Microsoft (even it is 99.99%
popular) is NOT the target plataform to make Clean
takeoff. Perhaps Unix/Linux which I am sure that
concentrates almost all 'functional' fauna would be
better to spread the language.

OCaml team did the same, they started with Unix and
open source model and the users have duplicated in one
year. I see daily new 'names' in OCaml list and many
of these guys are Windows users.

I am mainly a Unix developer and as Clean efforts and
future development will be only Windows, I am very sad
of this fact. I don't see any space to Clean (or any
functional language) in Microsoft arena. Even more
they often sparse 'warnings' (FUD) to their costomers
to AVOID using third party languages (much more if these are functional...[what's that??, weird!!, only to
be usen by some lunatics, not for real bussiness apps, C++ or VB are much better ...]. See what happened
to Borland when Delphi was threating VB).

Despite I will not use Clean (as I would wished) I
expect that functional paradigm will gain momentum
(as ignorance defeats) and promising future.

Best regards, long life to Clean.
Arturo Borquez.
