getting started

Well, I must say that I have severe problems as well. All paths are
correct. The new IDE simply doesn't want to compile, doesn't want to
launch the application, nothing. Since I am a notorious bugmaker
(this is excellent for a teacher...) I kept low profile, and I used
the old IDE which works as it always did. The new IDE flashes some
messages through the screen too fast to see them, and that's it.

So, are there just two of us with those IDE problems, or some
other people will wake-up now as well?

Dear gurus: you don't want to share with the /academic/ users the 
sources of the IDE, do you...?
