The Movement Disorders Division in the Department of Neurology at UCLA is seeking a full‑time Research Assistant to join our team with a 2-year commitment. Our lab studies the neurophysiology of Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders with the goal of improving current therapies and developing novel neuromodulation targets. Ongoing projects focus on freezing of gait, external cueing rehabilitation strategies, and rhythm perception.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly organized individual with strong interpersonal skills who is excited to gain hands‑on experience in human clinical neuroscience research. Prior experience with any of the following is preferred:

Behavioral testing
  *
EEG
  *
Motion capture (OptiTrack)
  *
Immersive virtual reality
  *
Programming in Matlab, Python, R, Unity, and/or Unreal

Responsibilities include lab administrative tasks and direct interaction with patients, including administering clinical scales and acquiring data.

This position is ideal for recent graduates in Psychology, Neuroscience, Cognitive Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields who have experience with one or more of the techniques above and are seeking additional research and clinical exposure before applying to graduate or medical school.

Many of our lab alumni have successfully gone on to MD and PhD programs.
