[FieldTrip] Question on performing EEG source reconstruction to atlas cortical sheet

Hello, Fieldtrip community! I am intending to apply the LCMV beamformer on
resting state EEG data to reconstruct resting source time series data and
then perform source-level functional connectivity analysis. I would like to
do this connectivity analysis on ROIs determined by the DKT atlas. I have
gone through the Freesurfer pipeline and have two cortical sheets for both
hemispheres. Is it ok to define the leadfields and perform the LCMV on both
hemispheric cortical sheets separately? In the past I have used the
standard MNI 3d grid template which already had both hemispheres together
so I am less familiar with the cortical source models.
