[FieldTrip] Postdoctoral position opening at University of Texas

The Neuroscience Research Center at Cook Children's Health Care System and the University of Texas at Arlington (UTA) invites applications for a postdoctoral research fellow position of highly motivated individuals with a PhD in pediatric neuroimaging with emphasis on movement disorders. This training position, under the supervision of Prof. Papadelis, will provide practical training and experience in a research setting. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a commitment to research, a collaborative work ethic, and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

The mission of our center is to better understand pediatric neurological disorders that will aid prompt and precise diagnosis and treatment. The center is located in Fort Worth/Dallas metroplex and is supported by a strong team of clinicians who offer pioneer treatments for children with movement disorders. The facility is equipped with state-of-the-art neuroimaging tools, including a 306-channels Neuromag TRIUX MEG system, a 256-channels Magstim high-density EEG system, a Nexstim navigated TMS system, several 3 Tesla MRI scanners, and a robotic-rehabilitation system (AMADEO, Tyromotion).

Appointments will be made for one year but the positions are securely funded for three years depending on performance. The ideal startup month is January 2023, but applications will be considered until the position is filled.

Responsibilities:
* Independent project design with the goal of data generation, analysis, and interpretation
* Collect electrophysiological data from children with cerebral palsy and other movements disorders
* Analysis and evaluation of MEG, HD-EEG, TMS, and DTI data with sophisticated software tools, such as Brainstorm, Fieldtrip, MNE-CPP, SPM, DTI Studio, TrackVis, etc.
* Implement Matlab tools for sophisticated data analysis
* Experimental setup of pediatric MEG/HD-EEG studies
* Experimental setup of robotic-rehabilitation studies
* Write peer-reviewed publications and participate in preparation of grants.
* Supervise graduate and undergraduate students

Qualifications:
* Doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering, Computer Science, Neuroscience, or a related field.
* Previous experience in a research setting
* Excellent programming skills
* Scientific writing experience
* Advanced understanding of electromagnetic theory
* At least two publications as first author
* Previous experience with MEG/HD-EEG research is not required but it will be a significant plus
* Excellent communication skills in English
