Hi Zhiwei Fan,
Averaging across a spectral band these days is done with the ft_selectdata function:
cfg = [];
cfg.frequency = [low high]
cfg.avgoverfreq = ‘yes’;
dataout = ft_freqanalysis(cfg, datain);
