Hi Mubeen,

The cfg.foi field specifies the frequency range in Hz, so the first option you mention.

This is described in the header of the function ft_selectdata, where you can always find a clear description of the input/output of FieldTrip functions:
% cfg.frequency = scalar or string, can be 'all', or [beg end], specify frequency range in Hz

Cheers,
Stephen

Thanks Jan will do. Can I ask if the specification of avgoverfrequency actually averages powspctrm values in all frequency bins if foi is [2 6] or looks at only 4hz the average of 2+6/2. The output says 1 frequency bin and stat.freq shows 4 in output when aevraging is done meaning does it only look at 4Hz frequency?

Hi Mubeen,

@1 and @2: Perhaps you can start by studying the documentation on internet:

https://www.fieldtriptoolbox.org/tutorial/cluster_permutation_timelock/<https://nam12.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.fieldtriptoolbox.org%2Ftutorial%2Fcluster_permutation_timelock%2F&data=04%7C01%7C%7C9e42a1add7a6406cd0a208da116ea812%7C84df9e7fe9f640afb435aaaaaaaaaaaa%7C1%7C0%7C637841464211547890%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJWIjoiMC4wLjAwMDAiLCJQIjoiV2luMzIiLCJBTiI6Ik1haWwiLCJXVCI6Mn0%3D%7C3000&sdata=IhQKSIPiPWhFeba%2BPIUZSnsDkWdBey0%2BbENIDbLIuCg%3D&reserved=0>

The output data object is quite extensively described.

@3: the error message is quite clear I think, so the answer would be ’no’, unless you squeeze out either the frequency or time dimension. This can be done with ft_selectdata, and an appropriate specification of the input cfg. Please refer to the function’s help to get you on the way.

Best wishes,
Jan-Mathijs

Hi fieldtrip team,

I would like to know how to learn more on cluster permutation performed on two groups.

  1. what do positive and negative clusters represent
  2. what is posclusterslabelmat represent
  3. is there a way to plot positive clusters after wavelet analysis comparisons between two groups without specifying time or frequency as I am getting this error message: 'this only works if either frequency or time is a singleton dimension'

my data currently is comparing frequencies between 2 and 6 Hz for time segments 0:0.2:5 seconds across 19 channels in two groups

Thanks for any help
Mubeen
