2 Postdoctoral Positions in Cognitive Neuroscience

The ERC-funded Research Group Neural Dynamics of Working Memory at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development in Berlin, led by Dr. Bernhard Spitzer, seeks applicants for 2 Postdoctoral Positions (E 13 TVöD; 39 hours/week). The positions are available from January 1st, 2022.

We are looking for candidates who will investigate the neural underpinnings of working memory (WM) processes using fMRI (position 1) and M/EEG/LFP (position 2) with model-based analysis approaches. The ERC project DeepStore seeks to understand the dynamic representational  nature of WM, its interplay with long-term memory, and its development over the lifespan. The positions are for 3 years, with the possibility of extension.

Applicants need to hold (or expect to hold by January 2022) a doctorate in Neuroscience, Psychology, Biology, Computer Science, or related disciplines. Candidates should be experienced in designing, performing, analyzing, and disseminating experimental studies using fMRI (position 1) and/or EEG/MEG/LFP (position 2). A strong research interest in working memory and experience with multivariate analysis (RSA and decoding methods) will be highly beneficial. In addition, the ability to work independently, strong analytical skills, and high proficiency in English are essential.
