[FieldTrip] .bin eeg files

Hi all,

Or perhaps somebody might feel lucky and look into this in order to come up with a generic solution which will bypass EEGLAB altogether….

Nonetheless: if a tour through EEGLAB works, it might be worthwile to document this on the getting started page, which is a more persistent location for solutions than the e-mail discussion archive. Note that everybody can edit the website, so knock yourselves out!

I had a similar issue with old (~2014) EGI files. In the end, I took the detour over EEGLAB:
EEG_raw = pop_fileio(['raw_data.bin'],'channels',[1:256]);

EEGLAB uses the mffmatlabio toolbox, which should also be present in your fieldtrip-distribution, but (I don’t recall why) EEGLAB worked better.
You can then switch to fieldtrip using eeglab2fieldtrip

Thanks, but my data is in .bin format (not .sbin or .raw etc…)
That’s why I’m stuck…
