I’d say a booleanized version of the brainmask.mgz would be a better candidate… That is, if you insist on using freesurfer derived data for the creation of the mesh :). (I have no experience with that, and would be curious to hear back what happens if you’d do so).

Hi JM,

Ah…make sense. So one could use the filled.mgz file right?

Thanks

Hi T,

I think that you’d need as ‘brain’ mesh a shell that describes the inner surface if the skull/dura (which is the mesh we typically get (with our T1w images) using the summated probabilistic segmentation of gray/white/csf compartments). As such using the cortical meshes is not correct. Thos should be used for the dipole locations.

Dear all,

I am trying to compute BEM head model using ‘openmeeg’ . I am working with 3 meshes (figure attached). The brain mesh is actually the concatenated L and R hemispheres. Ft_prepare_headmodel throws an error, correctly so, referring to the fact that there is still space between the hemispheres.

Does anyone know how to process the (red) brain mesh such that it becomes one entity?

Any hints much appreciated
Thank you
Tzvetan
