[FieldTrip] Tenure-track Faculty Positions in Cognitive Neuroscience

The Department of Neurological Sciences at the University of Nebraska
Medical Center in Omaha invites applications for two tenure-track faculty
positions in Cognitive Neuroscience. We welcome applications from any area
of cognitive neuroscience, including executive function, visual attention,
perception, motor control, memory, emotion, and decision-making, but are
especially interested in building our existing research programs in human
development and aging. Methodological specialty within neuroimaging is
open, but ideally the candidate would benefit from our strong existing
program in MEG imaging and/or our new Siemens Prisma MRI, and develop a
translational, theory-based neuroimaging program focusing on their area of
interest. The successful applicants should expect strong financial support
for building their research programs and would join a growing group of
cognitive neuroscientists, both within the department and across campus,
using MEG, fMRI, and other modalities.



Successful candidates will have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in neuroscience,
psychology, or computer science, with postdoctoral training and an
excellent publication record for their career stage. Candidates should also
have a sustained record of research and demonstrated ability, or evidence
of the potential, to generate extramural funding commensurate with their
career stage. Applicants should have the ability and interest to teach
graduate courses in cognitive neuroscience, and to mentor PhD students in
our growing Neuroscience PhD program.



The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is a vibrant research
environment with major resources and ample opportunities for training and
trans-disciplinary collaboration. Resources include a
306-sensor MEG system, research-dedicated 3T Siemens Prisma magnet,
multiple other 3T human MRI scanners, high-definition transcranial
direct-current and alternating-current stimulation (HD-tDCS/tACS)
equipment, eye-tracking equipment, and a state-of-the-art transcranial
magnetic stimulation (TMS) suite. UNMC is located in Omaha, a metro area
with a population of approximately one million, with major attractions and
events.



We expect to hire two faculty through the current initiative. We expect one
would start before the close of 2019 and another would start in 2020.
