[FieldTrip] phase slope index - baseline?

Hello Fieldtrip community!


I'm doing some connectivity analyses using phase slope index (PSI) while participants were listening to tones. I might be missing something, but I haven't found in the tutorials any specific advice on how to baseline PSI values, so I would like to ask what you think:


  1.  Is it necessary to baseline the PSI in response to short stimuli (<1 sec)?
  2.  What is the best way to baseline, e.g., by subtracting the average PSI of a baseline period before stimulus onset?
  3.  What range of values should I expect from PSI results, before and after doing the baseline?
