Hello,

http://www.fieldtriptoolbox.org/faq/why_does_my_output.freq_not_match_my_cfg.foi_when_using_mtmconvol_in_ft_freqanalyis

I am trying to fit my time windows/simulated data frequencies in time-frequency analysis to make Fieldtrip not correcting my cfg.foi.
In other words I want my output frequencies to be EXACTLY the same as cfg.foi.

In the mentioned page a following criterion for time-frequency analysis was proposed:

"Is the length of my data such, that the frequency resolution 1/T can capture all cfg.foi? This means, in other words, that cfg.foi/T should be integer numbers."

I am not sure If the number cfg.foi/T makes sense, because the units of that ratio is [1/s*s = Hz*Hz].
Please correct me if I am wrong.
I also tried many other ways of tweaking my parameters, but with no result.

All in all, at that moment, from my perspective it looks like Fieldtrip will always correct my cfg.foi and I must not expect that my output frequencies will match with cfg.foi,. I am also almost equally sure that this is not true.

I would be very happy if you can help me.

Kind regards,
Michał Komorowski
