It should of course say it does *not* work like a usual Matlab function 
:) you can call it like this:
/
   spm_smooth(srcmatrix, srcmatrix, 1); % call-by-reference  , 2x2x2 
gaussian kernel, 3D matrix as input

/Again, note that srcmatrix will be changed afterwards, no way to revert 
it back.
