A COH file is simply a regular epoch mode 4D file acquired either at the beginning (COH) or end (COH1) of a run. The coils are energized, so these are used to calculate the head position and headframe coordinate system.

cfg.dataset = 'e,rfhp1.0Hz,COH';
coh_data = ft_preprocessing(cfg);

should read the file.
