Dear Akiko

The ascii layout file has some limitations w.r.t. the layouts that you
can make, especially in case of ECoG data. We are using prepare_layout
to construct individual ECoG layouts based on a photo that was made
during the surgery. I have just updated the documentation at
   http://fieldtrip.fcdonders.nl/tutorial/layout
and
   http://fieldtrip.fcdonders.nl/faq/what_is_the_format_of_the_layout_file_which_is_used_for_plotting
to better reflect the advanced options for making ECog layouts.

Please have a look at the layout tutorial with the ECoG example, which
includes details and screenshots.

best regards,
Robert

The aim of this list is to facilitate the discussion between users of the FieldTrip toolbox, to share experiences and to discuss new ideas for MEG and EEG analysis. See also http://listserv.surfnet.nl/archives/fieldtrip.html and http://www.ru.nl/neuroimaging/fieldtrip.
