BCI2000 file read

Hi
 
I am trying to use some field trip functions for data recorded using
BCI2000 (.dat) files. The data was recorded using brain vision
amplifier. 
I understand that the function read_data doesnt read the BCI2000 files. 
Can anyone please suggest way around this ?
