[clean-list] build clean 2.1.1 from source on FC 4 using gcc 4.0

I wanted to try and build clean 2.1.1 from source on FC (Fedora Core) 4 using gcc 4.0.X

I don't see any obvious set of steps anywhere I have looked on the website or in the tar.
Can anyone point me in the right direction?
