Clean 1.0 OS/2 and emx 0.9b

Now I read the proper README, I find it says that this distribution
doesn't work with emx 0.9b :-(
Has anyone found a way round this? Is the problem understood
sufficiently to be reported in the emx mailing list?
The Clean webpage has an estimate of April 1996 for Clean 1.1 on OS/2
- any news?
