<div dir="ltr"><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">A fully-funded 4-year PhD position (€25,000 per annum
stipend) is available to work in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Peter
Murphy, in the Hamilton Institute and Department of Psychology at Maynooth
University, Ireland. The anticipated start date is September/October 2026.</p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The successful candidate will lead a project combining human
neurophysiology with recurrent neural network modelling to investigate the neural
and computational basis for making decisions abstracted from sensation and
action. The project will run in collaboration with Prof. Redmond O’Connell at
Trinity College Dublin and Dr. Seán Froudist-Walsh at University of Oxford/Trinity
College Dublin and the successful candidate will be embedded within this wider research
team. </p>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin:0cm 0cm 8pt;line-height:115%;font-size:12pt;font-family:Calibri,sans-serif">The ideal candidate will have demonstrable interest in the
cognitive neuroscience of decision-making, strong quantitative/computational
skills, and experience in at least one of the following: neural network
modelling, psychophysics with human participants, and EEG.</p>
