<div>PhD position in a transdisciplinary neuromodulation research project at the Faculty of Medicine/Science in Zurich</div>

<div>In our transdisciplinary research project, we focus on the study of neuromodulation, both in its foundational research and its practical clinical application to tinnitus. Originating from atypical neuronal activity, tinnitus has remained a complex condition
to cure. Recent developments in neuromodulation, especially transcranial electrical stimulation (tES), have shown potential as treatment methods. Furthermore, integrating multiple modalities of stimulation techniques, such as "bimodal stimulation", has garnered
interest. Our primary goal is to investigate if the combination of tES and acoustic stimulation can further reduce tinnitus loudness and distress. To address this research question, the core responsibility associated with this position involves orchestrating
a randomized, placebo-controlled trial involving patient participants.</div>

<div> The candidate will be part of the ZNZ International PhD Program in Neuroscience. This research is a collaboration between the University of Zurich and the Zurich University Hospital. Our team is multidisciplinary, comprising experts from various domains,
from neuromodulation researchers to clinical practitioners. Together, we aim to contribute meaningful insights to neuromodulation research and advance treatment options for tinnitus. The position is funded by a generous grant from the Zurich Hearing Foundation.</div>

<div>Requirements:</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>A master's degree in psychology, medicine, neuroscience or related fields</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>Fluent in German and English</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>Background in signal processing and programming (Python, Matlab, and/or other relevant languages) of advantage</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>Background in electrophysiology of advantage</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>Intellectual and personal flexibility</div>
<div>● <span style="white-space:pre"></span>Self-reliant work style and high self motivation</div>

<div>Candidates are given the option to join the doctoral program of the Neuroscience Center Zurich (ZNZ; a joint competence center of ETH and UZH Zurich) and profit from the excellent (inter)national research networks of the consortium. The research output
is aimed at basic and/or clinical neuroscience.</div>
