Just to follow up a bit more: I forgot the context that you are working with the HCP restingstate data. There is no reason to assume that the consecutive 2-second snippets represent continuous time to begin with. Each trial’s time axis
starts with time point ‘0’, and there’s no ’sampleinfo’ field in the data structure. So this alone is a very strong NONO for trying to glue the snippets together. Then, in addition to this, the preprocessed data has been downsampled from the original ~2kHz
sampling rate, which suggests the application of an anti aliasing lowpassfilter to have been applied (possibly to the individual snippets), it’s an extra NONO agains glueing.

My main question would therefore be how to ensure that the time axes of the original small snippets match up without gaps when redefining, as I’m sure there must be a way. I check the trial, label, and time fields for the outputs when redefining the trials
and, again, all looks as it should, without any NaNs that seem to “fill the gaps”.
