<p>The Emmy Noether Research Group "Neurophysiology of Everyday Life" in the Department of Psychology, School of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Oldenburg, Germany, is seeking to fill two positions as<o:p></o:p></p>

<p>The positions will be part of the project: Transparent EEG for Monitoring Noise Perception in Everyday life (TEMPEL). In this project, we will study noise perception in everyday life using mobile ear-centered electroencephalography (EEG) with a focus on
signal properties and signal quality of long-term beyond-the-lab EEG recordings. The PhD candidates will work on one of two projects:<o:p></o:p></p>

The sensor-source relationship of ear-EEG recordings. Combining ear-EEG, high-density EEG and (f)MRI you will investigate to which neural sources ear-EEG is sensitive.<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:auto;mso-margin-bottom-alt:auto;mso-list:l0 level1 lfo1">
The signal quality of long-term ear-EEG recordings. You will investigate how artifacts affect the signal quality of everyday life recordings. You will develop methods to predict, prevent and reduce artifacts.<o:p></o:p></li></ol>
<p>We are seeking highly motivated candidates with an academic university degree (master or equivalent) in the field of psychology, biology, (cognitive) neuroscience, computer science, biomedical engineering or related disciplines. You should have a strong
interest in signal processing. Experience in EEG/MEG source modeling and mobile EEG recordings are a plus. Fluency in oral and written English is expected.<o:p></o:p></p>
