<p>Dear colleagues,</p>
<p>Please find below a post-doc position offer that may be of
interest to Fieldtrip users:</p>
<p>B. Burle<br>
</p>
<p> -------------------------------------<br>
</p>
<p><br>
</p>
<p>Post-doc research position in Developmental Psychology/Cognitive
Neuroscience in Marseille, France</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">We are seeking for
a
highly motivated fellow for a 2 years (potentially renewable)
post-doc position to conduct EEG and structural MRI studies from
children to young adults. This position is opened within a larger
project aiming at tracking the development of cognitive control
from
childhood to adulthood. </p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">In the first phase
of the project so far, we have collected behavioral data in a
large
cohort of more than 400 participants (from 5 to 14-years old)
performing conflict tasks. The second phase in which occulometry
(to
extract pupil dilatation and eye movement) and electromyography
(to
extract the so-called " partial errors") in another
group of children (comparable age-span) is currently being
completed.
Capitalizing on the results of the first two phases, the hired
fellow
will be mainly involved in the third phase of this project that
will
study the cortical components related to executive control
maturation. EEG (and EMG) will be recorded on children performing
conflict tasks to track the maturation of the different
electrophysiological markers of executive control. The same
children
will undergo a structural MRI scan to get precise anatomy and
connectivity, along with resting state activity. The recruited
fellow
will be in charge of the acquisition and processing of those data.
The evolution of the EEG markers and of performance will be
related
to the maturation state of the different brain areas of interest
and
their connectivity.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">Candidates should
hold a PhD in cognitive/developmental psychology/neuroscience. An
expertise in either EEG or structural MRI is required. Having
experience with children is a real plus, and if this experience is
in
association with one of the two techniques listed above, that is a
major advantage. However, candidates having a strong background in
one of those techniques but no experience with children are still
encourage to apply.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">Knowledge of a
high-level programming language (python, matlab, R...) is a real
plus. </p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">The daily work
language will be english but given the large interactions with
children, non French-speaking applicant would have to speak a
minimum
amount of French (French courses can be attended in place).</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">The project is
interdsiciplinary, at the cross road of developmental psychology,
cognitive neuroscience of cognitive control and neuro-imagery. The
recruited fellow will hence interact with researchers in the three
domain. Besides, the project in embedded in the vibrant and second
biggest “behavioral and brain sciences” community in France.
State of the art methodologies are accessible (Research dedicated
MRI
- Siemens last generation 3T scanner Prisma, MEG, robotized TMS,
high
resolution EEG etc...).</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">Marseille is
located
in the south of France (Provence), on the shore of the
Mediterranean
sea, and is known for his very nice weather and surrounding: it is
bordered by the beautiful “<a href="http://www.calanques13.com/">Calanques</a>”,
the Alp mountains are
within 1h30 ride, and so are the major cultural cities of Provence
(Aix-en Provence, Avignon, Arles...). </p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%">Salary is based on
experience according to the CNRS (french National Center for
Scientific Research) rules (and will be around 2000 € netto).</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
Applications
are encouraged immediately, and will remain open until position is
filled. The position is available immediately.</p>
<p style="margin-bottom: 0in; line-height: 100%"><br>
