</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">A post-doctoral research position (3 yrs) is available at the Radboud University Nijmegen,</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">The Netherlands, in the research group of Dr. Pieter Medendorp. Research in our group</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">aims to elucidate the computational and neural strategies in human sensorimotor</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">processing. This theme is mainly investigated from a neuroscience systems point of view,</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">using a combination of computational modeling, psychophysics and imaging techniques</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">(EEG, MEG and fMRI). Current research projects investigate topics such as spatial</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">constancy, effector selection, eye-hand coordination, vestibular processing, and spatial</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">motion perception.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">The new project, funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research, will</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">study the neural signals and mechanisms that preserve spatial constancy for motor control.</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Facilities and tools to support these studies include real-time motion tracking systems,</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">eye trackers, visual displays, and a vestibular platform. Two state-of the-art MRI systems,</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">whole-head MEG, and an EEG lab are also available.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in neuroscience, or related field, who</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">have a strong motivation to do challenging interdisciplinary research. Experience with</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">functional imaging, psychophysical techniques, as well as strong programming skills, and</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">a demonstrable affinity with quantitative data analysis (e.g. MatLab) is highly desirable.</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Salary will be commensurate with experience. The anticipated start date is fall 2008, but</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">earlier is possible.</FONT>
</P>
<P><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">Nijmegen is the oldest city of the Netherlands, with an interesting history dating back to</FONT>
<BR><FONT FACE="Times New Roman">the Roman Empire, nice surrounding scenery (rivers, hills, woods) and a rich cultural life.</FONT>
