Good morning fieldtrip users,

There is an exciting opportunity for a young postdoc to join the Advanced Imaging Research (AIR) Group at the Swiss Paraplegic Research (Switzerland).
The project is on neuroimaging of cognitive functions in spinal cord injury.

The Swiss Paraplegic Research (SPF) is an affiliate of the Swiss Paraplegic Foundation. The mission of SPF is sustainably improving the situation of people with spinal cord injury (SCI) through clinical and interdisciplinary research on a national and international level. Specific areas of its comprehensive research include functioning, movement and mobility, social integration, equality of opportunity, self-determination, quality of life, health services provision as well as morbidity and mortality. SPF is an extra-university research institution recognized and promoted by the Swiss federal government and the cantons and an active link to academic and industrial research and development at the national and international levels

The Advanced Imaging Research (AIR) Group, is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher in “Imaging of Spinal Cord Injury” 80 - 100%

The Advanced Imaging Research Group is focussing on the investigation of the mechanisms of SCI beyond the sensorimotor domain. The aim of this postdoctoral project is to investigate the underlying processes of SCI with imaging techniques, and to establish methods for functional and structural connectivity analyses. The researcher is expected to contribute to the development of the research in SCI in close collaboration with the Group Leader.

Responsibilities:

• Contribution to the writing of grant proposals

• Contribution to the conceptualization and design of research projects

• Writing and submission of study documents for approval by ethics committees or authorities

• Analysis and interpretation of imaging data of different modalities (e.g., fMRI, DTI, x-ray, etc.)

• Writing and submission of publications in high impact, peer-reviewed journals

• Presentation of research findings at national and international conferences

• Supervision of PhD and Master Students

• State-of-the-Art facilities, with a 3 Tesla Philips scanner for MRI dedicated to research

• Excellent conditions for relevant patient-oriented research and possibility to be embedded in an academic career path

• Friendly and person-oriented atmosphere

The position is for 2 years with the possibility of extension.
